==Early life and education==
Yanov was born in 1978 and grew up in Southern California. After graduating Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, CA, he attended UC San Diego and the University of San Diego. At UCSD, Yanov earned Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish Literature. At USD, he completed Master’s degrees in Peace & Justice and International Relations. Yanov was awarded four college degrees in five years.
